Guangdong plans to make an investment of 7.67 trillionRMB into 1,570 key projects at the provincial level in 2022.

Among the key construction projects, those involving the new infrastructure, major development platforms, new generation of information technology, and new materials will be conducive to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

This year, the 554 key infrastructure projects account for more than 50% of the year’s total planned investment.

Guangdong willaccelerate the establishment of three science cities in the GBA, that is, Guangming Science City in Shenzhen, Songshan Lake Science City in Dongguan and Nansha Science City in Guangzhou.

Most of the newly launched projects aim at prioritizing the development of key industries in the GBA.

Among the 26 new generation of information technology projects, 18 are to be implemented in GBA ranging from electronic information and AI to the next generation mobile communications, and new display panels.

According to the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the annual planned investment will reach 900 billion RMB. The number of key preparatory projects is 1,152 with an estimated investment of 5.88 trillion RMB.
